When we are living in resonance, or balance with the seasons, we have a better flow in our lives. Everyone can understand the example that we don't plant seeds in frozen tundra, we wait for a warmer season. That is true for other things in our life too.
Learning to follow the seasons, is important for so many reasons, including your wellness. Many people don't do well in the cold, others not in the heat, and we have all heard of seasonal depression/disorder when there are too many gray and dark days in a row. At the December Solstice the season turns to Winter, unless you are in the Southern Hemisphere, then you have the start of Summer.
It is the change of the calendar, but it's the season, and energy time of going within, listening, resting, and getting through. Take notes, hold your energy, and resources, consider and plan - wait to start. It's also import to help you know you aren't failing, or falling behind - but instead may be hearing to do things out of time. Social media, algorithms, and marketing often take advantage of things, trying to make a dollar. Take the turn of the calendar year, everyone pushes word of the year, goals, gym memberships and more. And people spend money they don't have, because they are going to do it this year. Then it all falls apart and they feel like they failed. Truth is it's just the wrong time to start, it's the wrong season to start, and almost everyone else failed too. Most data says - 23% of people quit their resolutions by the end of the first week, and 43% quit by the end of January. Others say that 91% of resolutions fail by the second week of February. But they don't tell you that when they lock you into a 12 month payment plan, and are telling you this time will be different, you can do it! Helping someone hit their sales numbers, may not be the best thing for you. If you think of it like planting a garden, the winter season, which includes all of January (north of the equator) is not the time you go till the dirt, and plant and water the seeds. It is the time you plan, your space, plants, seeds etc. You are thinking it through and planning. Hopefully you can see why learning more about the seasons, and the timing of things is important - and how connecting back to the cycle of the year really can help you find your own red flags, and your own wins. Plus we know that getting connected to nature, and staying connected can do a lot of wonderful things for you. Including: Significantly improving both mental and physical well-being, reducing stress, anxiety, and depression;
all while while boosting both your mood and creativity. |
Witch, was often the matriarch (still is in more places than you might realize) that knew the healing work. From birthing babies (or make sure you don't take those herbs, they can lead to a miscarriage) to tinctures, the preservation of the food, and the seasons. A wisdom keeper, whether it be cloud reading for the storm coming or the full moons that created more feelings. Here we reclaim the word, the wisdom, and apply it to today's world and schedule.
